A cooperation grant agreement was signed between Tegeta Academy and USAID on the creation of a training-retraining program for heavy machinery operators. The document was signed by the head of the USAID program "Employers for Vocational Education", David Blood and the director of "Tegeta Academy" Otar Sikharulidze.

Within the framework of the $192,000 grant, "Tegeta Academy", together with its partners - "Association of Infrastructure Construction Companies" and "Tegeta Construction Equipment", will develop training-retraining programs for operators of heavy equipment, for which "Tegeta Academy" will provide a simulator will buy. The total budget of the project is 385,000 dollars.

"We signed a very important document. Within the framework of the program, for the first time in Georgia, we will have the opportunity to retrain heavy equipment operators and give them the opportunity for professional development. On the one hand, this will help the business to train the relevant personnel, and on the other hand, we will be able to make this profession even more competitive in the market. Taking care of the development of professional skills is the main priority for Tegeta Academy, and I think that with the help of this educational project we will take another step towards the development of the field", - Director of "Tegeta Academy" Otar Sikharulidze.

Within the framework of the program, Tegeta Academy, together with partner organizations, will develop and implement three training and retraining programs for heavy equipment operators.

"During the theoretical training, the trainees will learn the basic structure of the equipment, maintenance and operation rules, health and safety standards. With the help of heavy equipment simulator, it will be possible to get complete and in-depth practical knowledge. The program will provide heavy equipment operators with relevant knowledge and help develop qualified skills.

The project is implemented within the framework of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) five-year program "Employers for Vocational Education" ($24 million) and aims to cooperate with the private sector, establish a connection between human capital development and employment opportunities, which will reduce the level of unemployment and support companies increasing competitiveness".
